4.5 months later, still the same problem... Will this ever be fixed?

Thanks

When I try to add a JPG that is smaller than the allowed size to my profile, I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function imageCreateFromJPEG() in /home/boincadm/projects/vdwnumbers/html/user/create_profile.php on line 128

Can you at least report your EXE and CPP to http://samplesubmit.avg.com/ so that AVG doesn't produce a false positive? Your link to VirusTotal says that AVG scanned you clean on March 23rd, however I got the virus alert from AVG on Apr 4, using the latest AVG. So, either your EXE changed between March 23 and April 4, or VirusTotal is using an older AVG...

Come to think of it, this is a great opportunity for an evil hacker. If I were him, I'd wait for a while, watching the number of users grow on this project. Then I would find a way to hack into the server where this project is hosted and infect the EXE for real. Then everyone would get the new infected EXE either because they already made an exception for that EXE in their antivirus software, or would make an exception since they heard that this EXE causes a false positive on some machines and they just were unlucky enough to finally get that false positive. Then I would have my virus use the new machines that just got infected to spread even more!

Good thing I am not an evil hacker... :)

The issue here is not if people know how to do exceptions in antivirus software. The problem is that there is an EXE for which a variety of virus checkers are reporting problems. In this day and age, it is not wise for people to get into the habit of taking these warnings lightly and simply ignoring them, simply because they trust the source. Even though there is no reason for this EXE to carry a virus, who is to say that it didn't get infected somewhere along the line in a way that the project maintainers' virus checkers are not detecting, but ours do? This might not be the case for this insurance, but might be the case next time with another project. How about of I were to put an exception for this EXE and in a month it suddenly does get infected?

The right fix is for the EXE to be recompiled to remove whatever is triggering these threat warnings. Nothing less...

Thanks for listening

I liked the description of this project and added it to my set of projects. However, as the files were being downloaded, my virus protection software AVG detected a Trojan Horse while it was being installed. This is what it said: http://1drv.ms/1y5voBB

This is inline with the above experiences. I really hope that this will be fixed by the project owners. Otherwise running an EXE that the virus checker complains about is iffy at best.

Thanks
Tuna
