1) Questions and Answers : Windows : Calculation error (Message 364)
Posted 25 Oct 2016 by Dr Who Fan
Good luck with getting any answer from the project owner/admin....

Since he is a middle-school-aged child I suspect it is his dad who originally set up the project for him and DOES NOT follow up and reply to our messages (ABSENTEEE ADMIN).

Best is to complain some MORE in the MAIN Number Crunching forum titled "Computation Error after a few seconds on mutiple pc's"

YOU CAN DO SOMETHING (quite simple) ABOUT IT ALSO:
Open Norton's and EXCLUDE the BOINC PROGRAM FOLDER and the BOINC DATA FOLDERS from ACTIVE and PASSIVE SCAN. You can find the location of the DATA FOLDER in the first 30 lines of your BOINC STARTUP MESSAGE.

Still seeing an occasional error on V34 app...
Here is just one example where it is failing for everyone (so far):

5) Message boards : Number crunching : Project URL? Which one is correct? (Message 274)
Posted 23 Nov 2015 by Dr Who Fan
BUMP...
ANOTHER 7 days with NO PREPLY FROM PROJECT ADMIN(s)...
ANSWERS NEEDED

The question has nothing to do with credit.

The question relates to which URL should be used, by either a user or a BOINC Account Manager, to attach to your project.

I understand that both should theoretically work, however I ask again - Which is preferred?

ANSWERS NEEDED

I'm trying to coordinate the correct (preferred) URL to BOINCstats.
http://boincstats.com/en/forum/10/10465,1

So which one is the correct (preferred) URL?
http://www.vdwnumbers.org/
?

Are you using AVG or AVAST, REAL TIME File and URL checker / Anti Virus/Anti Malware Heuristics scanning program?

If so, they either need to be disabled when running BOINC or set to allow web access to the various project URL's and file/data in/out in your BOINC DATA folder and all its sub-folders (project & slots).

ADMIN: What is the status/progress with the Windows XP VALIDATION PROBLEMS?
10) Message boards : Number crunching : Validator problem? (Message 121)

Add to that tasks completed using Windows XP STILL DO NOT VALIDATE under new version 3.x
Like I said in my previous post... I am NOT willing to contribute to a project and NOT receive credit for work done.

I would like an answer from the project OWNER/ADMIN on the status of
WHY NONE OF MY COMPLETED TASKS UNDER WINDOWS XP HAVE VALIDATED on host 179

So far 2 of the 7 v300.00 tasks run on my WIN XP BOX (COMPUTER# 179] have been marked as INVALID...

I am NOT WASTING MORE resources on this project UNTIL I see a SOLUTION.
13) Message boards : Number crunching : Validator problem? (Message 93)

I don't think it's a 32-bit problem as my other PC Computer# 180 is Win/Vista 32-bit and those are validating.

Still seems to be a MAJOR PROBLEM with computers running Windows XP validating on this project...

One Example: Work Unit ID 423985 on my HOST 179 MARKED AS INVALID against 2 other PC running Windows 7.
15) Message boards : Number crunching : Project url change... Do we have to Detach & Reattach? (Message 73)
Posted 20 Mar 2015 by Dr Who Fan
Saw this on the MAIN project page few minutes ago and on BOINCStats.com
To participate, Download and run BOINC, and add Project '123numbers.org'.

http://www.vdwnumbers.org/ is STILL ACTIVE....
Does this mean we have to Detach & Reattach all our PC's to continue to receive work?

Specifically: Message boards and private messages - Community preferences
How should we notify you of new private messages, friend requests, posts in subscribed threads, and other events?

I have Notifications turned ON for an Immediate Notification by email on a new message in Topic and have NOT been receiving email OR home/account page notifications of new post(s) to the thread. Have even checked my spam/junk/bulk folder but nothing there either.

You might have forgotten to turn that feature on when you setup the Message Boards.

Peak RAM Memory Use: 421.63 MB

I think we can rule OUT excessive RAM use

Without seeing the source code, my next guess is the array size(s) may not set up correctly - maybe they need to be larger.
