We are about 3 hours into the 7 day challenge now.

And hello to you. At this point in time each work unit is using roughly 1.33GB per work unit for me.

5/20-5/27 - VDWNumbers - [H]ard|OCP's stress test for VDWNumbers potential inclusion into the DC-Vault - http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/chat/778

I waited to create this for after the BOINC Pentathlon. I figured with teams bunkering that participation would be low before it. I know people are shutting stuff down for the summer but would appreciate all the help we can get.

This project requires ~1GB ram per work unit. It is a math project. I have ran it on both Windows and Linux. The project has ironed out many of the previous issues it had but these challenges can bring forth some that were previously unknown. The admin already gave permission for inclusion and stated that work units are made on the fly.

I will try and coordinate a stress test challenge for later in May. The BOINC Pentathlon is coming up which many teams focus on for 2+ weeks. Since many teams use a tactic known as bunkering, doing the challenge before probably won't have a large participation rate.

The admins at www.dc-vault.com would like to ask permission to include your project to their listing. We have not fully decided to add this project yet, but do try to get project admins to agree first. Some projects are not ready for the extra attention a challenge may bring. Simply replying here will suffice. Thanks in advance.

Mine are using 1.195GB each. At least the 3 I'm looking at now that have reached ~50% completion. If I get a chance to view one in an earlier and a later state, I will post back.

I had multiple of these last night and I believe they failed at the 5 minute mark.

All my Linux work units are finishing correctly, but it will probably turn out to be a waste of time and electricity because all my wingmen seem to be Windows users, whose work units seem to be erroring out with a message like that posted above.

Well don't feel bad. Even some Windows work units can't validate from the masses getting the same error. People really need to look at the high RAM requirements of the project before adding their boxes to it. They probably don't even know they are destroying so many work units...

I know I didn't realize how many of mine were failing until just now. 2/3 of all the work I have attempted has apparently failed. They were borged boxes or dedicated systems that I don't watch all that closely.
